DECADE Methodology

Course IQ incorporates the DECADE system — a strokes-gained approach to course management. Instead of aiming at pins, the system recommends targeting green centers and optimizing for the best miss, minimizing expected strokes over the full round.

How It Works

Course geometry is sourced from OpenStreetMap, including tee boxes, fairway polygons, bunkers, water hazards, and green complexes. The optimizer runs against your player profile to generate personalized target lines for every reachable club on every hole.

Weather data refreshes automatically from the nearest NWS observation station. Elevation tiles are cached from USGS at 1-meter resolution. All computation runs server-side — the app works on any device with a browser.
